The Alberta Council of Disability Services (ACDS), in partnership with the Workplace Institute, is offering instructor-led Workplace Investigation Training for Community Disability Services (CDS) Professionals. This two-day training provides foundational knowledge and practical tools to conduct effective and ethical workplace investigations tailored to the CDS sector.
Day 1 (September 17): Fundamentals of Workplace Investigation Training (Part 1)
Covers essential investigation principles such as planning, interviewing (including vulnerable individuals), safety and ethical considerations. Sector-specific scenarios, case studies, and practical tools such as an investigation planning template and interview recording tool are included.
Day 2 (September 18): Fundamentals of Workplace Investigation Training (Part 2)
Focuses on managing parallel investigations, integrating life experience and cultural considerations, handling various types of evidence, assessing and documenting findings, and systemic issues and root cause analysis.
Learner materials will be sent following confirmation of registration and payment.
This training is delivered by a certified instructor from the Workplace Institute and conducted virtually via Zoom.
This training is open to professionals in the Community Disability Services sector who are involved in or responsible for conducting internal investigations.
ACDS Members: $1,250 + GST per learner
Non-members: $1,625 + GST per learner
Note: Successful participants will receive a Certificate of Completion. Learners must attend both sessions and pass course assessments to receive certification.
