The Alberta Council of Disability Services (ACDS) is offering instructor-led Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training (No Holds) in partnership with the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI). This training is open exclusively to ACDS member organizations with 50 or fewer staff.

This virtual session does not include physical restraints and is ideal for staff who do not require knowledge of restrictive interventions. It meets standards for Creating Excellence Together (CET) accreditation.

Training Overview

  • Prevention and deceleration strategies

  • Decision-making related to risk associated with crisis behaviour

  • Post-vention approaches

The sessions are facilitated by a CPI-certified instructor. Learner materials will be mailed to the organization after registration is confirmed.

Participants must attend and complete both days of training and pass the post-test to receive their Blue Card Certification, which includes a unique participant code for training validation.

Fees

  • ACDS Members: $275 + GST per learner

  • Associate ACDS Members: $357 + GST per learner

Sector support subsidy is available for learners from PDD-contracted organizations in Alberta and will be applied at invoicing.
