Session Overview
This session will introduce the Mental Health Supports for People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities training, developed by six collaborating organizations (Transitions, Robin Hood Association, YWCA Edmonton, Excel Society, MirkaCare, and Recovery Alberta). This training developed based on the needs of the Community Disability Services sector, provides staff with practical mental health skills tailored to support individuals with disabilities.
By using a Train the Trainer approach, staff members are equipped to deliver workshops within their agencies, making the training cost-effective and sustainable. The webinar will highlight the development of the training, preview the course materials and facilitation methods, and how to access Train the Trainer opportunities, including an ongoing community of practice for facilitators.
