ACDS is pleased to announce that Community and Social Services has responded to our long-time advocacy and approved a $200,000 grant for ACDS to lead the development of a multi-prong strategy for the Community Disability Services (CDS) sector workforce.
Blueprint CDS: Towards a Skilled and Sustainable Workforce will address the sector’s chronic human resource challenges and new pressures resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. Recognizing that the sector’s current workforce crisis is a consequence of complex and longstanding issues, this one-year initiative will create a strategy for both immediate measures and long-term action.
Blueprint CDS builds on ACDS’ ongoing advocacy, research, and engagement, including the extensive 2019 membership engagement sessions that prepared the groundwork to develop a comprehensive human resource strategy for the sector. Read this information sheet to learn more about the project’s goals and activities. Blueprint CDS will be led by Nilima Sonpal-Valias, Director of Strategic Initiatives and Engagement. We are excited to collaborate with our members and sector stakeholders on this landmark project. Please watch for periodic updates from us as this project progresses.
